Following in the tradition of making a significant gift to the College on the occasion of the 25th Reunion, the members, parents and friends of Class of 1943 have given and pledged $650,390 to Dartmouth during the first 25 alumni years of the Class. At the 25th reunion banquet on June 22, Class Giving Chairman Robert C. McQueen announced that this total had been achieved through the intensive efforts of his committee, the team of Alumni Fund Agents headed by Robert Edwin Field and the entire '43 fellowship, headed by Class President George B. Munroe.
Over $290,000 of the total sum was raised during the intensive campaign of the past two and one-half years, through significant contributions to the Alumni Fund, advance pledges and gifts to the Third Century Fund, and other designated gifts to the College. The $292,055 raised during the intensive campaign effort was second only to the record sum of $310,000 set last year by 1942.
