Doug Leigh, the editor of our lively class newsletter, has recently left the position of creative vice president at the William Esty Advertising Company in New York and has started his own creative service agency in his home town of Weston, Conn. Doug is a graphic designer and advertising man. He has been associated with a number of New York advertising agencies for the past 15 years. After Dartmouth, Doug did post-graduate work in fine arts at the Brooklyn Museum School of Art.
Bill Schillhammer is now assistant medical director of the National Life Insurance Company of Vermont. He was recently elected a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and will receive his fellowship degree at a convocation in Chicago in October. Prior to joining the medical staff at National Life in 1966, Bill was associated with the staff at Mary Hitchcock Hospital and also served on the staff of the Dartmouth Medical School as clinical instructor in medicine. Bill and his family live in Montpelier, Vt.
Bill Ashley and Diane E. de Vries were married in June in New York City. As many of you know, Bill is the director of computer coordination with the Columbia Broadcasting System television network. His bride has been with the international department of Bankers Trust Company. The Class sends its congratulations to the bride and groom and hopes they will find their way to Hanover this fall.
Eastman Kodak announces the appointment of Charles S. Bishara as manager of the customer services department of the business systems markets division. Charlie and Dorothy now live in Henrietta, N. Y., and have two children. Prior to joining Kodak he was program and promotion manager of WINR-AM radio in Binghamton, N. Y.
Stan Feldberg, president of Zayre Corporation, was recently elected to the board of directors of the State Street Bank and Trust Company of Boston.
From the banking industry comes two other items of interest. Bill Spoor, vice president and general manager of the international division of Pillsbury Company, has been elected a director of the Northwestern International Bank, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Northwest Bancorporation of Minneapolis. Matt Gately, who is a trust officer of the Bank of New York, was recently elected assistant secretary of the Bank of New York Company, a newly-formed bank holding company consisting of the Bank of New York and five up-state banks.
Hugh MacNamee has left the New London area and his private practice to join the staff of the Dartmouth Medical School in the psychiatry department.
Reg Pierce was elected a senior vice president of the Compton Advertising Company this spring. He has been with Compton for the past ten years and, prior to that, was with Kenyon and Eckhardt.
Another piece of news left over from the late spring is an announcement from Johnson and Johnson that Graham Brush was appointed manager of distributions development for the company. Graham and Katherine and their two sons live in Princeton, N. J.
Ken Hurd was recently named marketing manager for Hertz Rent-a-Car, having previously been director of advertising for the company. Ken and his family live in Michigan.
