Fund Comes Close
OCTOBER 1969

Thanks to the largest volume of June gifts ever recorded, the 1969 Dartmouth Alumni Fund ended with a total of $2,128,306 contributed by 22,088 contributors. This was only $20,000 (1%) below the goal, despite the fact that the contributor total dropped by some 1,000 donors and Dartmouth's alumni participation percentage was reduced from 65% to 62%.

In view of the problems faced last spring on the Dartmouth campus and some understandable conflict with Dartmouth's major Third Century Fund, Alumni Fund Chairman Richard D. Lombard '53 and the Fund Committee hailed the 1969 results as "truly extraordinary and heartwarming."

A final report on the 1969 campaign, detailing all class achievements, will be distributed to all alumni in November.
