Further changes in the College's administrative staff have been reported. Robert J. Finney Jr. '63 has been promoted to administrative assistant to Vice President George H. Colton '35. He was formerly an associate in the Office of Development where he served as secretary of the Dartmouth Parents Fund and assisted with the Alumni Fund. He received his M.B.A. from Tuck School in 1964 and then spent three years with New Jersey Bell Telephone before returning to Hanover.
Former Assistant Director of Financial Aid Jay C. Whitehair Jr.'55 has been named to the newly created position of Assistant Director of Employee Relations. He will be responsible for the recruiting, interviewing, and referral of all prospective service employees and will assist in labor relations.
He is succeeded in the Financial Aid Office by John H. Carpenter '64, who for the past year has been Assistant to the Director of Financial Aid, which position will now be filled by Peter S. Eddy '68.
Ronald Talley '69 has been appointed to the newly created position of counselor to black and disadvantaged students in the Office of Research and Counseling. In addition to his counseling duties, he will engage in research on the higher educational problems of disadvantaged students, for the purpose of developing a comprehensive program for disadvantaged students at the College. He was selected by the Counseling Office from a number of candidates with the advice of the Afro-American Society.
In the Office of Buildings and Grounds, Elliot P. Melzar, a registered marine chief engineer associated for the past four years with the marine engineering firm of J.E. Bowker Associates of Boston, has recently been appointed Assistant Director. His chief responsibilities will be in the area of the heating and electric plant, engineering design in air conditioning, heating, and associated controls.
