The College

FEBRUARY 1969 marks the 150th anniversary of the U. S. Supreme Court's decision favoring the College in the Dartmouth College Case. In its lead article this month the ALUMNI MAGAZINE endeavors to give President Francis Brown some of the credit he deserves for that far-reaching victory. Daniel Webster, of course, played the great legal role in the Case and uttered famous words forever identified with Dartmouth. In Washington, D. C., on April 9, with government leaders participating, a ceremony will honor Webster and mark the sesqui-centennial of the Dartmouth College Case. The alumni group arranging the program is headed by Judge Carl E. McGowan '32.
