As snow continues to fall, guaranteeing a good cover for Carnival, Hanover enjoys one of its finest winter seasons in recent years. While inhabitants of most areas moan and groan about the white stuff, we revel in it, and "Stamp Out Summer" signs blossom all over the north country.

Speaking of snow and skiers, I received a wonderful letter from Rick Isaacson T'65 who follows the fortunes of international skiing with great interest. Following a start with Ogilvy & Mather, Rick has joined Mark McCormack, who is the lawyer and business manager for many of the world's. foremost professional and amateur athletes. Rick works directly with Jean-Claude Killy and Stein Eriksen, and to spread himself around the athletic seasons, also works with Jack Nicklaus. Rick is associated with International Management Inc. and Trans World International, the two companies which negotiate endorsements, set up merchandising affiliations and licensing agreements, and produce film and television properties for their clients. It sounds like a fascinating job.

Christmas correspondence included a letter from Carole Lee and Ron Randall T'68, who described a strong Tuck group in .Minneapolis. Thirteen couples from the Classes of 1967 and 1968 got together for a "Tuck West" party during the holiday season. Steve Davies T'68 writes that work at Du-Pont is fascinating, most challenging and stretching. He also happily reports a new addition, Stephen Robert Jr., born in November. I am sure I have forgotten other letters so write to give me heck and I will put it in the next column.

Barry Linsky T'64 has joined Clairol as assistant director of marketing for the Salon division, following long association with Lever Bros. Bob Strumpf T'64 has been promoted to manager of operating budgets by Western Air Lines. Formerly with Price Waterhouse in San Francisco, Bob joined Western in 1967. Leonard Donovan T'62 has been appointed controller for Norton Company's Refractories and Protective Products Divisions. Still in the securities business, Paul Kreindler T'57 has been appointed vice president in charge of the institutional trading department by Glen-wood Securities, Inc.

Paul Caravatt T'47 has taken over as chairman and chief executive officer at the Marschalk Company. Coming from Carl Ally Inc. where he had been president, Paul has had over 20 years' package goods experience, having been executive vice president at LaRoche, McCaffrey and McCall and senior vice president at Foote, Cone & Belding. Clifford W. Michel T'31, a partner of Loeb, Rhoades & Co., has been elected vice chairman of the governing board of the Association of Stock Exchange Firms. The governing board is the policy-making body of this organization, which is a trade group composed of about 520 member firms of the New York Stock Exchange.

George T. Conklin Jr. T'37, an Overseer of the Tuck School, has been elected president of the Guardian Life Insurance Company. A director of Guardian since 1957, he was elected executive vice president in January 1964.

Malcolm L. Jones T'27, retired vice president of Richards-Wilcox Division of the Hupp Corporation, was elected president of the Aurora Foundation in Aurora, Ill., an organization devoted to the development of financial support and encouragement to a wide variety of important charitable and civic projects in the Aurora area. Earlier in the year, Dan Donaldson T'66 was named sales and marketing manager of Smith Metal Arts Company in Buffalo, N. Y. He has served as the firm's executive assistant since graduation from Tuck. Howard Fair-weather T'62 has been promoted to assistant vice president at the State Street Bank and Trust Company in Boston. He joined the Credit and Loan Division of the bank in 1965. John van C.
