The second northeaster in two weeks has given me some added time at home due to two feet of snow outside my door and as much in Boston. With this advantage I am getting this column out early and hopefully the quality will be improved with the additional time available. Actually we were much luckier with the first storm as we were "trapped" at Stowe and couldn't get home from the weekend until Tuesday. Needless to say we were quite upset, but superb skiing made up for all discomfort.

Boston's alumni dinner got little support from '58's in the area. It was a fine affair honoring Thad Seymour. I sat in the midst of a lively discussion of the stock market between two pros, Joe Slotnik who is with L. F. Rothschild and John Parker, executive vice president of the newly formed Putnam Advisory Co. Skip Harrington was at the table as was fellow Wellesleyite Ted Harris. Ted is doctoring at the Mass. General Hospital here in Boston. Another from this town, Jeff Strayer tells me that Bob Keller is living in our town and specializing in ortho pedics at Boston's Children's Hospital. Ail of you in the New England area with kids should buy only Fisher Price toys according to Jeff as he is the New England sales man. ager for that company.

John Otis writes that he has made a big switch. Since January he has been with the Bank of New York in their commercial loan division. "I have really been enjoying the work and the change. Our office is on Wall Street and that in itself is an experience Once I complete their training program I hope to be dealing with their commercial customers and correspondent banks. The bank has just formed a holding company and will be expanding greatly in that direction." John is staying on the board of directors of Otis Industries, his former associates On the lighter side he has been taking a group of high school kids on a weekly ski trip to one of the local New Jersey areas "We are in our third year with it now and it has really promoted skiing in this area. We get an average of 25 boys and girls every Wednesday night." John and Carol have three of their own, two boys and a girl.

It looks like '58's are dominating the Cleveland political scene. Phil Ranney has been elected president of the Lakewood Board of Education. He was a member of the school board for the past three years. Lakewood is Cleveland's second largest suburb with a school population of 10,500 and most of the problems facing any large school system. Phil has been with the law firm of Henderson, Quail, Schneider and Smeltz one of the two oldest law firms in Cleveland and was made a partner last year. Phil and his wife Trina couldn't make it up to reunion last year due to the arrival of Jill Alexandra. They have another girl Rebecca Anne who is two and a half. These are the first girls born in the Ranney family in four generations.

Mort Fisher has been appointed to the legal staff of the Rouse Company, a Balti more-based mortgage banking and real estate development firm. Mort attended Yale Law School and while there held an assistant instructorship. He served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Rozel Thomsen of Balti more. He serves as secretary, Section of Real Property Planning and Zoning, vice chairman Taxation of Real Property Committee, and chairman membership committee of Estate and Probate Section of the Maryland State Bar Association.

I have three engagements to report, further diminishing those bachelor ranks. BobDudley will be married in May to Nancy Pierce Broyhill of Arlington, Va. Nancy was a Phi Bete at George Washington University and is now working in the office of Rep. John Buchanan, R.-Ala. Bob works for Stromberg Datagraphics, Inc. George Bald win has become engaged to Catherine Robertson of Westbury, N. Y. Catherine is working for the investment banking firm of Hayden, Stone in New York. George is employed by the Franklin National Bank in New York. Bill Stilwell will marry Marquette University grad, Doris Ann Nowak of San Diego, Calif. Doris spent two years with the Peace Corps in Colombia, South America, and is now doing graduate work at San Diego State college. Bill received his master's degree from San Jose State and is now working on his doctorate at Stanford.

Back to the world of business, Dick Lowry has been named president of Federal Office Products, a division of U.S. Plywood-Champion Papers Inc. Dick was previously vice president and general manager of the company which is a wholesale distributor of office equipment and furniture. He started with Champion Papers in 1960 as a financial analyst.

John Trimble has been elected second vice president of Fidelity Union Trust Company of Newark, one of New Jersey's largest commercial banks. John started with Fidelity in 1958. He was elected an assistant treasure in 1963 and managed the bank's credit department from 1964-1966 when he became a branch manager. His current responsibilites are in commercial loaning, John is working towards an advanced degree in business administration at Rutgers. He is a member and officer of the Urban Coalition of Greater Newark and a past vice president of the Newark Junior Chamber of Commerce. John and his wife Linda live in Short Hills and have a son.

Now that the storm has abated and I have plowed out my driveway for the third time I will end this and get back to work.
