One more reminder for the Alumni Fund ... To those of you who haven't committed, now is the time; dig as deep as you can and contribute to this most worthwhile cause ... To those of you who have already given, your help is appreciated ... To those who may find a little extra, there is nothing wrong with increasing your gift.

A nice note came from Mel Croner some time ago, "A most pleasant and memory-filled dinner with Sam and JoAnn Silverstein in New York City two weeks ago prompted me to write this letter. After all of these years, I realized just how much I enjoy turning to our '58 alumni notes and tracking the lives and progress of my classmates. To the years of this news, I thought I would add some of my own. First, Sam and JoAnn are fine ... JoAnn is as unique and memorable a person as Sam. As always, I was spellbound by the stories of mountain assaults and windblown nights at 20,000+ feet. We are planted rather firmly in the San Francisco area. My wife (Judy Albert, ex of Bennington) and two girls (Hali, age 10; Nina, age 7) spend most of their time in San Rafael, a Marin County suburb. I sometimes live there too! The proximity of the Sierras has made us enthusiastic backpackers and skiers. The local sun regularly drives us on the tennis courts. Judy and I did play in the rather ill-fated alumni tennis tournament July, 1971 at Flanover. (It was our first visit since graduation.) I'm a partner in the Management Services Department of Arthur Young & Co. I spend the majority of my time assisting a variety of business with operating and management problems. On balance, life is very pleasant. We often talk of our Dartmouth friends and experiences, and enjoy the news of them. After fifteen years of silence, I'll again join my class." Thanks for the letter, Mel ... look forward to seeing you at Reunion and how about a trip up to the Ski Weekend next year?

I'm sure there is adequate coverage elsewhere, but congratulations are due to Harry Dodds newly appointed trustee of the College. Harry, a Phi Bete, began his career as assistant commissioner for Native Courts in the Ministry of Justice of Northern Nigeria. He is now executive assistant corporation counsel for the New York City Law Department.

Bill Glos has been promoted to vice president in the Trust Department of Chase Manhattan Bank He started with Chase in 1962 as an administration assistant in the pension trust department and participated in the bank's special development program. He was promoted to assistant treasurer in 1965 and to second vice president three years ago. Bill is also treasurer of the Fish of Pascack Valley, Inc. and a member of Beta Theta Pi and the American Conference.

Don McCree will be doing a lot of globecircling as a new senior vice president in Manufacturers Hanover Trust's international division. In transferring from the national division, he will supervise the bank's business in the United Kingdom, Bermuda, Ireland, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Yugoslavia, Israel, Iran, Afghanistan, the Middle East, and Africa, including Portuguese and Spanish Africa. Until now Don's home has been in Chappaqua, N.Y., but he'll probably find it easier to live in a plane.

"We (Graf) Bergers have returned to the land of the Sun! And we want you to visit us soon in Tucson! Yes we have moved back to God's Country and are all excited about our new home. Grafton has taken a position as Controller with the Burr-Brown Research Corporation which manufactures a wide variety of electronic components ...

Price Waterhouse & Co. was a lot of fun and a very rewarding experience; but, the frequent travel and strong probability of uncontrollable transfers finally broke the camel's back. Hopefully, the consulting experience will be helpful at Burr-Brown ... We are situated on two acres of land (which is quite a change from Shaker Heights) in the foothills of the Catalina Mountains with a beautiful view of Tucson from our back patio. We love watching the little desert creatures - quail, dove, rabbits, roadrunners, squirrels (so far no scorpions or snakes!) ... As our poem concluded, we hope many of you will be able to visit us. Our guest room is open and ready. We would love to show you Tucson; Mexico is only one hour away; we can play golf year-round; ski within one hour in December and January; and do many other things we are sure you will enjoy." ... It really sounds great, Bergers ... may just have to take you up on that invite sometime.

Dr. William Durousseau has joined the full-lime staff of the King-Drew Medical Center as an assistant professor of obstetrics-gynecology at the Drew Postgraduate Medical School, Los Angeles. He holds a joint appointment at the USC School of Medicine in the obs-gyn department. Will is an active member of the Watts medical community and has long been identified with development of the Medical Center, giving many hours of voluntary service in the opening year of the hospital and serving as the first president of the Martin Luther King Jr. General Hospital Professional Staff Association.

A follow-up to an earlier brief note is a letter from Glen Wilde, "I recently moved to Lancaster, Pa., to become vice president of Marketing and Sales for the K-D Manufacturing Company. K-D is a manufacturer of specialized, unique tools for the automotive industry and is branching out into the industrial, construction and hardware markets. I head up a sales force of 70 men covering the United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada. We also now have added personnel for a push into the export market (besides Canada).

"I am terribly enthusiastic about the job and its potential, but Bobbie and I and our two kids (Cindy, age 9, and Greg, age 6) are truly excited about being 'back east.' We loved Milwaukee; and my previous position as General Manager for the non-automotive disc brake division of Kelsey-Hayes was a challenge. However, this opportunity "beats all;" and now finally I can see some Dartmouth games after six years of seclusion in the Midwest. If it ain't Big Ten, they don't bother to give much space to the rest of the world."

Back in February Bob Dudley was co-chairman of the Northern Virginia Heart Association's annual heart fund campaign. Bob is vice president of the Hamilton Mortgage and Investment Co. He is an affiliate member of the Northern Virginia Board of Realtors and Mortgage Bankers of Washington. Bob and Nancy live in Alexandria.

A note from just down the street and around the corner comes from Andy Thomas, "Just a note to update the Class relative to some of my recent pursuits and activities. I was recently promoted to Director of Business Planning at Honeywell Information Systems, Inc., having worked there for the past 4 years. My wife Nathalie and two daughters, Adrienne and Emily, moved to Needham, Mass., last September into a 60 year old house, formerly owned by another Dartmouth man, Bill Hovey '52. A frustrated pilot since my days in AFROTC, I finally received my private license last summer and have enjoyed local touring around Martha's Vineyard and Cape Ann I plan on attending more Dartmouth functions after I receive my MBA at Babson. Am currently carrying three evening courses which pretty well soaks up my spare time." We'll probably run into you at the dump sometime, Andy.

Morty Fisher writes from Baltimore " ... after almost five wonderful years with The Rouse Company working primarily on the new city of Columbia, Maryland, I am returning to the private practice of law as a partner in the Baltimore law firm of Frank, Bernstein, Conaway & Goldman. My wife Ann and I have two children, ages four and six, and a crazy Dalmatian dog!"

And that is another year of writing class columns. Thanks to those of you who took the time to drop me a note. I hope many others will bring us up to date in our up-coming reunion year. Jane and I hope you and yours have a pleasant summer.
