The Third Century Fund was launched in Delaware with a dinner at the Wilmington Country Club on February 19. Approximately eighty alumni and wives were treated to outstanding talks from Professor Walter Stockmayer and Trustee Harrison F. Dunning '30. Their reports on campus life and needs of the college were direct and timely. Harry F. Bissell '45 is chairman for Delaware and his committee includes Henry Bryan '34, Robb de Graeff '39, John Foote '50, Jim Corner '39, Coleman Dorsey '52, Bill Smith '30, Walter Mertz '36, Tom Charles '46, John Dingle '37, Colin Hunt '55, Tom Herlihy Jr. '26, Jim Martell III '50, John Woodhouse '21, and John Townsend '40, Advisor.
Our annual spring dinner will be held Monday evening, April 21. The featured speaker from the College will be Rev. Paul Rahmaier. Reverend Rahmaier is College Chaplain, advisor to the DCU, and was recently appointed assistant dean of the college. His talk will be about student attitudes and life at Dartmouth, a subject about which we are all interested. A film "Football Highlights, 1968" is also scheduled.
Recent ALUMNI MAGAZINE reports about the Dartmouth Club of Delaware have appeared under the title, "Wilmington." Your secretary assures you he has not unilaterally changed the name of the club. We still operate as before covering all of Delaware; Cecil County, Maryland; and Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, and Salem Counties in New Jersey. New to our area are: FrederickE. Titus '28, Lewes, Del., and Albert E.Mayer III '63, Atlantic City.
Honors continue to accrue to our local alumni. Tom Herlihy III '57 has been nominated for a position on the Delaware Alcoholic Beverage Commission Control Board. Tom will discuss his duties at the club's annual dinner in April.
We have been notified of the death of George Zabriskie T'13 of Atlantic City. The members of the Dartmouth Club of Delaware extend their sympathy to the family.
