The Dartmouth Club of Delaware started the fall-winter calendar on a strong positive note by continuing our club-sponsored event each month. Following our September picnic October brought Dartmouth Night and enrollment meetings. Present plans call for a bus trip to the Dartmouth-Princeton game on November 22, and in December we will have our annual Christmas luncheon with applicants for the Class of 1974 undergraduates as guests of the Club. In addition business luncheons are held the second Tuesday and fourth Thursday at Piane's Grille, Wilmington.
"The Football Highlights, 1968" film was featured at the Dartmouth Night gathering on the eve of the Penn game. At the time John Foote '50 and Jim Sullivan '49 predicted that if the 1969 football team is as good as the films of the 1968 squad this should be a glorious fall.
In October Dick Jaeger '59, assistant director of admissions, visited local Wilmington schools and conducted an enrollment meeting for area high school seniors, juniors, parents and alumni enrollment workers. Robb De Graff '39 serves as district enrollment director and his team has been active in identifying good candidates for Dartmouth and interviewing applicants. Alumni interested in the admissions aspects of club work are urged to contact Robb or the club secretary.
Peter A. Larson '47 has resigned as planning director for Wilmington to become ex- ecutive vice president of the Greater Wilmington Development Council. Pete was the first full-time professional planner employed by the city as was described as "our home run hitter." He accomplished his goal of establishing the planning function as an integral part of Wilmington City government before moving to his new position in BWDC, an organization which seeks to find solutions for community problems. Moving into the top planning post is David C. Neville'59. Dave has been a planner in Wilmington since 1964 and will assume his new responsibilities with a strong background of community leadership and the respect of public officials and citizen leaders.
