As the first month of Dartmouth's 1969 Alumni Fund campaign neared its end, the Fund had received some $800,000 from 7500 alumni, parents, and friends. This was over one-third of the 1969 goal of $2,148,548, but the campaign was running some 700 donors and $40,000 behind last year's drive at the same time.
Fund Chairman. Richard D. Lombard '53 was still optimistic about the final achievement of the goal, telling Class Agents in mid-April that "although we are somewhat behind, I am confident that we have a good potential remaining and that if we carry Dartmouth's case effectively to all alumni we will reach our 1969 goal by June 30."
In late April the second Fund Committee appeal, featuring a folder on the William Jewett Tucker Foundation, went to all non-contributors. A final mailing on the Kiewit Computation Center is scheduled for mailing in late May.
