The Class of 1964 held its fifth reunion in Hanover during the weekend of June 20-22. In addition to the picnics, parties and lectures, the Class got down to the serious business of electing the officers of the Class for the next five years before the tenth reunion. The following officers were elected: Sandy McGinnes, president; Don Kubit, secretary; Harvey Tettlebaum, treasurer; RogerAaron, class agent; and John Timbers, class newsletter editor.
The following men were elected to the Class Executive Committee: John Carpenter, Scott Creelman, Bill Barnet, Bob Engelman, Charlie Greer, Ken Lapine, Nick Listorti, Ron Schram, Pat Terenzini, Lew Eisenberg.
Approximately 180 people attended the Reunion of which 95 were members of the Class of 1964. Reunion activities included parties both Friday and Saturday nights with The Tracks providing the music. The class meeting was held Saturday morning followed by a picnic out at Storrs Pond. The class dinner held at Thayer Hall featured Mystery Meat and Al Foley as the guest speaker. Al was in predictably good form and entertained the Class with stories of Dartmouth and examples of Vermont humor. The brunch Sunday morning rounded out the weekend and people began heading home as close as Woodstock, Vt., and as far as Texas and California.
A great deal of the work that made the reunion a success was done by Sandy McGinnes and Nick Listorti not to mention Chief Rufus Potlatch. The Chief put in several appearances during the weekend usually around 2 or 3 a.m. in the beer tent. Sandy is leaving the employ of the college to work with an advertising agency in Boston where he will still be close enough to Hanover to keep an eye on the class's affairs. Don Kubit, now a dean at the University of Florida, will take on the chores of class secretary starting with the October issue. He says he is looking forward to getting even with me for being ignored all these years.
Have a good summer!
