President Kemeny's first major alumni appearance following his installation as President of the College will take place in New York City on March 30 when he will be guest of honor at a special dinner sponsored by the Dartmouth Alumni Association of New York. The Board of Trustees is mailing invitations to all alumni in the New York area, and all other Dartmouth men are invited.
This will be the first big alumni-wide dinner since 1958, when Dartmouth men gathered in New York to honor President Emeritus Hopkins on his 80th birthday. The dinner (a stag affair, dress informal) will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Commodore Hotel. A reception, beginning at 6, will precede the dinner. President Kemeny will be the principal speaker and the toastmaster will be Charles J. Schaefer III '48, president of the New York association and of the Dartmouth Club of New York.
Tickets are priced at $7.50 and reservations should be made in advance by writing to the Secretary of the College, 206 Crosby Hall, Hanover, N. H. 03755. Checks should be made payable to Dartmouth College.
Next month President Kemeny will travel to the Midwest and West Coast to meet with Dartmouth alumni groups. His itinerary, as now scheduled, will be: April 15, Cleveland; April 16, Chicago; April 20, San Francisco; April 21, Los Angeles.
