The Club has had an extremely busy fall. Throughout the season football films of the games played outside the metropolitan area were shown. Films of the Penn, Harvard, Cornell, and Princeton games were seen by many enthusiastic members. Our thanks to Tom Spangenberg '64 for narrating the shows. After the Columbia game the Club had a great open house party; a piano player, singing and a good time for all closed out a perfect day.
Traditionally Coach Bob Blackman visits our Club in December to bring us the highlights of the football season. This annual event took place on December 8 for a large group of members.
Not all our activities are centered around football. The Club has recarpeted the dining room and will-soon'repaint that area. Approximately one hundred lunches are served daily. The Club table is available for all Dartmouth alumni to join in active debate concerning Hanover, New York City, commuting, the world, or any topic with the table's regular attendees: Nick Sandoe '19, Carl Ray '37, Ken Murray '27, Dave Metz '54, Art Grimes '34, and Len Sommer '47. For those members working or visiting down town the Club has a fine association with the Lawyers' Club, 115 Broadway for luncheon service. Besides the luncheon facilities the College Room has been regularly available for business meetings.
We are delighted to have members of the Dartmouth community frequently using the Club: Ort Hicks '21, Cliff Jordan '45, Ad Winship '42, Dave Orr '57. For athletic activity the squash-playing members have been playing regularly through our association with the Columbia Club: Paul Paganucci '53, Bill Friedman '58, Ken Roman '52 form 'he nucleus of a team.
We look forward to a busy spring. The Club may serve as a fine meeting place for alumni before attending class agents' dinners or other occasions bringing them to the city. In addition we are hoping Dr. Kemeny will be our guest some time this month. Entertainment chairman, HughJohnson Jr. '62, reports a party planned for late April.
The Club offers a wonderful opportunity for Dartmouth men to meet and enjoy the companionship of other Dartmouth folks. Dues are graded so that the most recent alumni pay less, in fact the Class of 1969 has no dues at all. This is an invitation to stop in and say hello.
