The fall activities at the Dartmouth College Club of New York City were kicked- off with the showing of the Dartmouth-Holy Cross game film on Dartmouth Night. Many alumni were at the Club celebrating the recent football successes. In addition game films of the Dartmouth-Penn game were shown on October 16; Dartmouth-Brown game films were shown on October 22 and the Dartmouth-Harvard game on October 30. All of the films were narrated by former All-Ivy halfback, Tom Spangenburg '64.
The Club is a great spot for Dartmouth men to get together and we're planning to have other entertainment activities for our members. Besides the Club activities the rooms are available for meetings. For instance on October 8, 1969 Thayer School sponsored an evening meeting with cocktails and dinner; on October 9 the Third Century Fund held a cocktail party at the Club; the Class of 1957 executive committee met at the Club on October 14. All in all the Dartmouth College Club of New York City is an active and busy club designed to help Dartmouth men get together. We welcome all Dartmouth men to stop in and get to know the Club and its facilities. You'll find fun and relaxation!
The first meeting of the Board of Directors was held on September 30. We were pleased to have several new men added to the Board, Frank Wright '54, WillardDoyle '33, Hugh Johnson Jr. '62, and BillFriedman '53. One major decision of consequence to the younger classes is that a new dues schedule has been endorsed by the Board. It is designed to encourage recent graduates to participate in the Club's activities and we urge you to stop by and think about joining the Club. It is located at 42nd Street in the Hotel Commodore on the mezzanine and for information call MU 9-0909.
The Board of Directors with Jim Schaefer '48 as president feels we're going to have a great year. We hope many Dartmouth men in the metropolitan area find time to join us.
