On his Third Century Fund trip in February to Mexico, Vice President Orton Hicks '21, included Guatemala where he was greeted by an unusually loyal and enthusiastic group of alumni. The group included Bob Bullock '46n, Jim Clark '49, Izzy and Isabel Stahl Jr. '50, Julio Herrera '55, John and Mrs. Tully '60, Enrique Murillo s'58t, and Chris Williams '68.

In addition to the alumni, Prof. Samuel Bonis brought three of the class of 1970 students who are doing geological field work in Guatemala this year: Dana Durgin, Gary Malone, and Peter Vikre.

Two of the missing alumni were out of town: Dana Condon '28, Managing Director of United Fruit, and Pan American's ChockMaher '39. The third, Roberto HerreraJr. '43, was busy campaigning for the following weekend's election, which his party won. Ort reported that this is one of the proudest Dartmouth groups he has ever visited — and he has seen them all.
