John R. Mason Trophy at the Alumni Fund dinner in Boston on April 1 in recognition of his 1969 performance as the outstanding Head Agent of a class from one to ten years out of college. In making the award Lester R. Godwin '30 (r), member of the Alumni Fund committee, read the following citation:
It often takes a new Head Agent a year or two to get the feel of the job before moving ahead significantly. Not so with Jack Reno who, in his first year led the Class of 1961 to a most impressive performance in the 1969 Alumni Fund. Under Jack's leadership, the class posted a 32% gain in dollars, ranking ninth among all classes in actual dollar improvement. The class was fourth best among all classes in contributor gain, with 15 more donors than in 1968. Also, they placed sixth among all classes in percent of objective. All these achievements netted the class second place in their Green Derby competition. For these outstanding results, the Alumni Fund Committee gratefully awards the John R. Mason Trophy to John F. Reno as the most outstanding Head Agent of a Class from one to ten years out of College.
