Now that we are coming up on Alumni Fund campaign time, we thought you'd like to know who the regional agents are that Ed Lider has collected. They include JohnHyde in Concord, N.H., Andy Caffrey in Lawrence, Mass., John Pritchard in New Briton, Conn., Larry Johnson in New Canaan, Conn., Mort Pechter out on Roslyn, Long Island, Dick Bugbee in Rutherford, N.J., Judge George Barlow of Trenton, N.J., Charlie Dittmar of Williamson, N.Y., Rad Hibben, Alexandria, Va., Jack Behringer, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Bodie Mosenthal, Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Dale Ruedig, Galesburg, Ill., OrmBirkland, Denver, Colo., and Jack Troster, Atherton, Calif. Again Kelly Coffin is in charge of memorial gifts. If one of these regional agents should call you for help as a sub-agent, please help out—we need it badly.
Although the news is thin, it includes EdLider having been appointed chairman of the New England Parents Association of Brandeis University. Ed and Dottie's daughter Carol is a sophomore at Brandeis while Bob graduates from Dartmouth this year.
Stan Calder is relaxing a bit from Reynolds & Co. down in Miami, while at the north end of the country Ed Leene writes: "Took in the Dartmouth-Cornell game but didn't run into any '43's other than the Rochester group. Expanded the insurance agency with purchase of another agency this summer. Spent the fall watching Pop Warner football with a 12-year-old son playing defensive safety." Ed's note was on the back of his class dues notice. If you haven't sent in your class dues to CalOsberg, why not do so now with information on the back for your Secretary?
Speaking of garnering information, your secretary has been sending double postcards as fast as he can write them. If you receive one, how about sitting down and responding? Despite the fact that it's free, the percentage of returns has been low.
To eat a little crow, we found a note from Jim Adams sent last May which had somehow gotten buried. He reported that President Kemeney's then "recent" speech in San Francisco greatly impressed the representatives of the Class of '43, namely Jim, John Troster, and Ducky Drake. Jim also sent a copy of a news clipping from the San Francisco Examiner reading as follows: "Redwood City realtor Jim Adams kept a dinner date with his wife Mother's Day, but it wasn't easy. In the morning he flew to L.A., rented a car, drove 100 miles to visit his ailing mother in a hospital, spent five minutes there, sped back to L.A. Airport, and flew home, carrying with him a pair of souvenirs, two speeding tickets." Jim denies the speeding tickets saying, "Chuck Longfield and I garnered too much experience on avoiding same on our 111-mile weekend races to Northampton."
We close with a word from HarrySemmes Jr. Harry's oldest son is 21 and in the Army with number 2 son (19) at Eisenhower College in New York. His two other children are in local schools here in Washington.
