We start with the following report from Eddie O'Brien, Reunion Chairman for the upcoming 30th:

"The plans for our 30th Reunion are moving steadily and with good speed. The returns come in every day and from all sections of the country. We have reason to believe that we will, indeed, fracture all records for 30th Reunion Classes. Because things are going well, it is a good time to talk to those classmates who have not replied, at all, to the original mailing of the record and detailed information. Actually, we can have the best results when we have early and precise information about whom to expect in June. Therefore, we urge you to mail back those returns. The deposit checks keep us going and make us feel secure in our planning. If you have lost the return blank, send us a letter. Include your $25 deposit, your wife's name and dress size and your shirt size. We also need to know how many children you are going to bring and their ages. The return address is simply: Box 115, Wilton, Conn. 06897.

"If there's just no way to be with us, we'll miss you, but let us know.

"The 30th Reunion is more than a Class Reunion. Remember that '41 and '42 will be in Hanover at the same time. Each class is trying to outdo each other in attendance, joy and style. But the real motivation is the chance to see and talk with friends, fraternity brothers, and teamates who were in school when we were there.

"Meanwhile, read 'THE CLANGING BELLS.' We will soon publish a running list of those '43's who have signed us. Along about March or April we'll try and let you know about the '41's & '42's as well. The dates again—June 12, 13 and 14."

And speaking of the 30th, Bud Silverstein writes that he and Phyl were sorry to have missed the Fall Reunion—regional scout meetings conflicted—but they are planning for the 30th. How about you?

On the Hanover scene, Paul Young has announced that effective September 15, he will resign as treasurer of the College and become treasurer of the Dartmouth Savings Bank. Paul has been working in administration at Dartmouth since 1951, was named assistant treasurer in 1954, associate treasurer in 1965 and treasurer in 1970. He is the treasurer of the New England Colleges Fund and a member of the Hanover Inn Board of Overseers. '43 does not lose its influence completely, however, since Paul will be a consultant to the College.

Word has been received through Jack Jenness, a '44, that Tom Gerber editor and assistant publisher of the Concord (N.H.) Monitor, married Electra Bilmazes of Boston the end of December. Electra is a BU grad (also graduate work at Harvard, Brandeis and Middlebury) and has her own public relations company. Tom and Electra should be back from a wedding trip to South America about now and expect to live in Webster, N. H. In the Boston area, John Koslowski advises that he and Monty Basbas, '45, just opened a new indoor tennis center in Newton, Mass. While at the other end of the country, John Cook down in San Antonio writes:

"I think that the record which was sent out for advertising the class reunion is really something. I had hoped to go to Houston this past December for the big meeting of the southwest region, but could not get away at the last moment. Being just one of the very few Dartmouth Alumni in the immediate area, I have been an interviewer for applicants from the area for several years—a most interesting job. Kelly Coffin was in town and called me several months ago and we had lunch down on river. Looks like we might be able to make the reunion—my wife has never been east of the Hudson! As for your comment about the CPT—I have left the flying to the birds and airline pilots, although I am active with many military pilots here in San Antonio."

Bob Pinto's widow Carol has just written to say that she and the boys have moved permanently to their "summer" home at 34 Wauhope Road, Hampton Bays, N. Y. 11946.

The final item—in preparation for Reunion Weekend—is that President CharlieDonovan has appointed a nominating committee consisting of Bud Hall, chairman, Jim Doucette, Mort Pechter, FredStockwell and Bob Field, members. Charlie has asked that any of you who have nominations to suggest for the position of president, treasurer, secretary, head agent, newsletter editor and bequest chairman, send them c/o H. Brereton Hall, 9 Binney Lane, Old Greenwich, Conn. 06870, telephone (203) 637 3231.
