An endowment fund has been given to the College that will extend the scope of the Marcus Heiman Awards to include grants in support of projects conceived by Dartmouth students talented in the arts. The donors of the new fund, made in the name of the D and R Fund of Chicago, are Martin R. Rosenthal '56 and his parents, Marie-Louise and Samuel Rosenthal, the benefactors who established the Marcus Heiman Memorial Award Fund in 1959.
The Marcus Heiman Awards have been made in the last 12 years to students who have made valuable contributions to the arts at Dartmouth. These achievement awards will continue to be made, but in addition there will now be the new project grants.
