The 58th annual Dartmouth Alumni Fund closed June 30 with a record total of $2,660,193 from 21,221 alumni, parents, and friends. This was $195,000 more than the 1971 total but $90,000 short of the 1972 goal of $2.75 million. Participation by 58% of all living alumni was one percent less than the previous year.
Reunion classes played a major role in the record-setting campaign. The Class of 1932 contributed $105,033 in its 40th year, while 1942 for its 30th produced $100,856. The 50-year Class of 1922 set a record with $85,520 and the 25-year Class of 1947 gave $73,157.
Contributions of $86,225 by 1474 parents of undergraduates and graduates set a new record for the Parents Campaign led by David A. Winer of Boston, father of Jonathan H. Winer '73 and Michael D. Winer '75.
Full details of the 1972 Alumni Fund, led by Robinson Bosworth Jr. '37, will appear in a special report in next month's issue.
