The Marriott in Newton served as the site for the annual dinner meeting of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Greater Boston. The notables in attendance were headed by President Kemeny and included Norm McCulloch '50, president of the Dartmouth Alumni Council, and RobinsonBosworth Jr. '37, chairman of the 1972 Dartmouth Alumni Fund.
The Class of 1933 reaped the harvest of awards, with S. Sidney Stoneman '33 receiving the Dartmouth Alumni Award from Norm McCulloch. Wes Beattie '33 received the James B. Reynolds Trophy as the outstanding head agent for classes out of school from 26 to 40 years. The last on the list of trophies was the attendance cup which AGAIN went to the Class of 1933.
Robinson Bosworth also presented the Fred A. Howland Trophy, for the outstanding head agent for the alumni class out of college over 40 years, to Harold H.Lounsberry '15. Fred Stephens, Jr. '53 was the recipient of the Harvey P. Hood Trophy as the outstanding head agent for the classes 11 to 26 years out of college.
After the adoption of new by-laws for the Club, which were amended principally to recognize the new coed aspect of Dartmouth, the new officers for the 1972-73 year were elected as follows: Jack Haffen-reffer '44, president; Charlie Hood '51, first vice president; Bob Brace '52, second vice president: Bob Garver '55, third vice president; Jon Strong '56, secretary; Sandy McGinnes '64, assistant secretary; Charlie Morrison '54, treasurer.
Members of the Executive Committee include: Dick Barker '54, Hugh Brady '55, Pete Buhler '55, Bob Danziger '56, Les Godwin '30, Ray Neff '64, Dick Page '54, Walt Yusen '58.
Outgoing president Ira Berman '42 gave some interesting comments on the activities of the Club in the preceding year including the new newsletter. The Dahtmuth, the art show held last fall, and the two Dartmouth Club trips to Sweden. He concluded his comments with the presentation of a $2,000 Scholarship Fund check to President Kemeny.
President Kemeny then spoke to the group of Dartmouth men and women in his usual eloquent manner.
The icing to the cake was provided by the singing talents of the Dartmouth Aires.
