The Dartmouth Club of Maryland got into the Christmas spirit at its Annual Cocktail Party on December 21. Fifty-four alumni, wives, undergrads, and parents joined together in comfort before a roaring fire while being serenaded (?) by a tuba and banjo. Once again, outstanding hors d'oeuvres prepared by the wives seemed to indicate that years of deprivation at Thayer Hall make Dartmouth men marry good cooks.
The Hanover scene from the undergraduates' view was brought to the party by Grant Healey '75, Darrell Simms '75, Charles Cornish '75, Rudy Ellis '72, and Richard Gunper '73. Six decades of alumni were represented by such stalwarts as Bob Hazard '29, Joe Searing '33, AllenBarrett '44, Ned Jarrett '54, Jim Byers'66, and Ken Jones '70.
Enrollment leader Wes Hannington '51 was eagerly in pursuit of help for recruiting and interviewing activities among recent grads such as Russ Kemp '66."Anyone interested in helping out should contact Wes at his home 2508 Girdwood Rd., Timonium. Md. 21093.
Some new faces joining the festivities were Ken Strout '52 and GeorgeMcElfatrick '44.
President Ben Johnson '50 outlined the plans for the Glee Club Concert on March 28. A committee from the Singing Forties, including Roger Antaya '44 and BaileyWalter '43, chaired by Ken Jones '42, will be handling the concert.
