Days of Wne and Roses... yes, the 30th Reunion for all of you '42s is June 12- 14... this year! And '42 is well on its way to setting the all-time Reunion attendance record! It's in the cards... No doubt about it, judging from the signup to date. But after all, this is really not news... if '42 were not getting some sort of a record... that would be News!

But then I vowed that I was not going to implement the percussion (beat the drums!) in this column. I thought of giving you a respite for a month... that is, if you read the column at all. But you, we, all of us just cannot forget the "Thaumaturgic Thirtieth." Scribe Jim Farley has referred so aptly and nostalgically to "the sun and laughter and winsome New England weather" which "will return to the Hanover scene erelong."

We say "Bring on the Reunion, the alumni seminars, the short computer courses, the continental breakfasts, the informal receptions, the Alumni Dinner, the 'Specific Gravity and Viscosity Tests' for males and females on Tuesday night, the Glee Club, the soft June sunsets, the 'matutinal repasts,' John Kemeny, DaveHeald's incomparable clambake, swimming, softball, cocktail parties, the class dance, fellowship with '41 and '43, renewal of old acquaintanceships, the panel discussion on a topic important to most of us, and an optional lunch-brunch at the tent to wind things up"... until the next time we can get together... Don't be shy. Come. it's the first, last and only 30th Reunion you will ever have at Dartmouth College. Sign up, lest you let the opportunity slip by! You know, we did omit some things from this enticing list of activities... one of the important items among them is the valuable prizes galore, from which batch each one attending the Reunion will take home a prize of real value. BobEncherman is going to have a lot to do about seeing to that and Reunion Chairmen Al Britton and Wally Farr (not to mention Dave Orr) are going to look after your creature comforts.

... Wouldn't be at all surprised to see Ambassador Bob Hill walk into our Reunion midst this year... He walked out of the Madrid Ritz some weeks ago, climbed into a black sedan and set off for a short rest in Portugal and—he hopes—a long political career in the United States...

Bob Tyson (Ralph Robert...) of Philadelphia has been enjoying a long and illustrious career in medicine and has just recently been elected the one hundred and eleventh president of the Philadelphia County Medical Society, another of many challenges with which he has been faced over the years.

Our Don Meads is a graduate of the Harvard Business School, but we don't hold that against him. He was recently elected to the Board of Managers of Western Savings Bank (Philadelphia again!) He is executive vice president of the INA Corporation in charge of financial and general operations.

Saw Joe Nason's picture in the Worcester (Mass.) Telegram some weeks ago and the article said that he had been elected second vice president and counsel for the State Mutual Life Assurance Company of America. Joe joined the organization in 1950 after acquiring a law degree at Loyola University. He was named assistant counsel in 1955 and associate counsel in 1961. He became counsel and assistant secretary in 1969.
