Wesley H. Beattie, (left) Head Agent for the Class of 1933, received the James B. Reynolds Trophy from Alumni Fund Chairman Robinson Bos worth Jr. '37 at the annual dinner of the Boston Alumni Association on April 4. The following citation accompanied the award:

Wes Beattie, during his past three years as the 1933 Head Agent, has clearly demonstrated that thoughtful effort, perserverance to detail, and sheer enthusiasm can lift a class to an inspired performance. Last Spring, for example, 1933 won the Group IV Green Derby, the first time the Class had won a first place since graduation. They did this by raising $51,813 to rank fifth among all classes in dollar improvement while also adding significantly on the participation side. Wes Beattie has pioneered "Operation Headstart" to encourage early gifts from classmates, while also emphasizing realistic giving. As a result, 1933 ranked first among all nonreunion classes last year in Century Club members with 176 men giving at the $100 and up level. For his extraordinary leadership we are proud to award Wes Beattie the James B. Reynolds Trophy for 1971 recognizing him as the outstanding Head Agent of a class twentysix to forty years out of College.
