The Club has had a very active year this year under the leadership of our new President Pete Jaffe '59. In September we were privileged to have President Kemeny visit with us and we had a record turnout of Westchester County alumni for the affair. Also, members of the incoming freshman class were guests of honor at the dinner.
The Club has been active as usual this year in recruiting and many prospects were contacted in high schools throughout the County. Under the very active leadership of Dave Metz '54 and Tom Schwarz '57, a great number of outstanding Westchester students will be members of next year's freshman class. Any alumnus in the County who is interested either in recruiting or interviewing prospective students, kindly contact President Jaffe.
We are having a one-day alumni seminar in the County on May 13 at Manhattanville College. Two visiting professors from Dartmouth will conduct the seminar on the topic of "Images of China." Professor Jonathan Mirsky has just returned from China so everything is up-to-date and relevant in the seminar.
We are already working on our annual dinner for September 1972 and we are pleased to announce that Ruth Adams, just appointed by the College as a vice president, and retired president of Wellesley College, will be our speaker.
We currently have four students at the College under our special Dartmouth Club of Westchester County Scholarships, financed over the years by Westchester County alumni The four students at the College receiving DCW scholarships (Bob Cordy '71, Bob Tsigonis '70, Tom Sherry '73, and Ken Marable '74) accredited themselves in every way as the kind of high intellect, multi-faceted (otherwise called "allround") undergraduates that Westchester sends to Hanover. This year's DCW Scholarship winner, Cliff Ennico '75, is following in stride with a 4.7 average fall term.
The College has a brand new program of job placements for undergraduates during summer and other semesters off from their studies. We all know how difficult finding employment is these days, so any alumni who can help in this regard are invited to call Pete Jaffe in New York City at 736-0395.
We are always inviting more participation in Club activities by our Westchester County alumni, so anyone reading this column who is interested in participating in any of our activities above discussed can contact any officer of the Club and we would be happy to utilize your services!
