After Yale defeated Dartmouth, 113-0, at Hanover in 1884, it took 84 years before the Elis were invited to return. That was in 1971 and now, only two years later, the Blue will be back. Yale's visit to Memorial Field on November 3 is the only major change in Dartmouth's 1973 football schedule.
The return of Yale gives Dartmouth four home games in 1973, including three Ivy League games against teams that are expected to be the prime contenders to wrest the Ivy League crown from Dartmouth's head—Penn, Yale, and Cornell.
The 1973 football schedule:
Sept. 29, at New Hampshire.
Oct. 6, Holy Cross; 13, Pennsylvania; 20, at Brown; 27, at Harvard.
Nov. 3, Yale; 10, at Columbia; 17, Cornell; 24, at Princeton.
