We are greatly indebted to The BerkshireEagle, which not only reported in full upon the recent wedding of our own Paul Bosquet to Beverly Kirkpatrick, but also printed a picture of the fair (very!) Beverly, proving that '53s, even when contemplating 20th reunions, marry not only wisely but well. The new Miz Bousquet is a nurseanesthetist at Berkshire Medical Center: Paul is president of Otter Development Corp. and owner and operator of Bousquet Ski Area.
Reunion doth approach and all plans are now in final stages and all will be in readiness for your arrival in Hanover, which, given the dismal state of the U.S. Postal Service (?), will be only several days after you read this.
Chairman Don Smith has organized a weekend (Friday, June 15 through Sunday, June 17) that will be the standard by which reunions are measured from here on out. He has got supercharged committees handling every aspect of an action-crammed schedule that will keep you, your wife/date, and kids happily engaged, entertained and well-fed for the entire weekend. No detail has escaped Don and his multifaceted committees — one task force is already working to bring the temperature of Storrs Pond up to optimum swimming level, while another has developed a system to vastly increase the flow rate of foamy from the keg for faster action.
Ron Lazar has been named vice president- marketing services director for Union Underwear Company, Inc., manufacturer of "Fruit of the Loom" and unbranded men's and boys' underwear and men's dress shirts. The company, a subsidiary of Northwest Industries, Inc., has its marketing headquarters in New York City, and its manufacturing headquarters in Bowling Green, Ky. Ron joined Union Underwear in 1958 and has served as the company's western and southwestern regional sales manager. Not only will Ron be at Reunion, he is in charge of uniforms. Not wishing to curb speculation, we'll let your imagination take it from there!
Howie Koonce has been named assistant professor at Colby College where he has been a faculty member since 1963. He is director of Colby's Center for Coordinated Studies. Howie cot his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Penn and served as administrative assistant to Colby's president during 1965-67.
The Dartmouth Alumni Association of Merrimack County (N.H., of course!) has elected Dick Dudley its vice president for the year beginning July 1. The County of Merrimack has been sending sons to Dartmouth since Eleazar first opened its doors, so the alumni thereabouts don't lightly entrust their officerships to mere striplings. We'll celebrate at Reunion - see you there!
