As advertised in the April Alumni Magazine. the First Annual Charles River Dartmouth Club Rugby Match came off on schedule on Easter Sunday. Mother Nature cooperated, resulting in a crowd of over 200 who watched Dartmouth play Harvard under a cloudless sky.

Dartmouth left the field victorious, 8 - 0, and was awarded the Charles River Cup by club vice president and empressario, Bill Jacobs '47, who provided both teams with post-game refreshments at his home in Weston. Also working on the project were club president Bob Armkenecht '60, DonSmith '53, Jack Benson '60, Bob Hailer '46,Austin Baker '41, George Peters '55 and JackWhitman '46, who summed up the occasion saying, beer in. hand, "This is a heck of a lot better than a tea dance."

Dartmouth will defend the cup next spring, when we hope for equally good weather and an even larger crowd.
