The report on the fall reunion will have to be held over until next month because the deadline for these notes is a week before the Princeton game.
George and Eleanor Klein won't be able to get to the reunion. They moved from Pittsburgh to Sarasota last spring, intending to keep up their regular attendance at the '28 fall reunion, but Eleanor's sister is seriously ill and Eleanor is taking care of her. George has attended the local Dartmouth and Ivy League meetings but the reduced summer attendance included no other '28ers except Don Solis, who is secretary of the Dartmouth Club and treasurer of the Ivies, which sounds like an occupation.

Maxfield Parrish retired from Polaroid in 1972 after 32 years in the research department. He says: "With the family background, my grandfather, father, mother, kid sister, and now my daughter all being successful in varying degrees in the field of painting. I just had to give it a whirl, myself. I spend about one third of my time painting, another third tidying up after settling three estates with still some hard-to-move paintings by various family members lingering, and the other third fending off those who, upon seeing a man retired in good health, not having to work, think to themselves, 'What a waste of skilled man power! I must immediately enlist his energies in my x x x project!' Liberty of independent action must be fought for every day of your retired life, not just weekends when in your job-holding years. I don't mind this, really. Keeps the mind alert."
