THE title: "Harvest in Hamburgerland." The place: not Bakersfield but West Lebanon — some five miles south of Hanover. The 20th century is lapping at the shores of Dartmouth. Will the vaunted "sense of place" be submerged by boosters and developers? Is this today's Pioneer Spirit? In Frost's "New Hampshire" the poet tells us:
