Last spring the Dartmouth Club of Western New York joined with the Alumni College to conduct a Canadian American Seminar at the De Veaux School in Niagara Falls.

The session was highlighted by President Emeritus John Sloan Dickey's address and two major topics, Energy and Land Tax, were discussed in depth. Contributing to these sessions were a variety of well qualified experts including: Professor Logue from the College, Louis R. Reif, president of National Fuel Gas, Dr. Leonard Graziplene, of the Canadian Consulate, Henry P. Smith II '31, U.S. Chairman of the Joint Control Commission for the Great Lakes, and Bruce Barker of Toronto.

We are indebted to these people, the Toronto Club members, and especially Michael Stuart'71 of the Alumni College and Fred Turner '58, our ambitious club vice president, for making this event possible. The seminar raised many questions and represents a small but significant step in keeping U.S.-Canadian relationships friendly and open.

This past year was a solid one for the club with an exceptionally fine and large group heading toward Hanover, thanks to Bob Thompson '58 and many others.
