Henry Stein has also come up with a proposal, a four-day class get-together at Aspen in January 1975. This would involve not only outdoor activities but a series of seminars under the guidance of the Aspen Institute for Humanistic Studies. Henry's plan is described in detail in the January Thirtyteer and we urge you to consider this attractive proposition and advise him (Box 480 Aspen) if there is any possibility that you can attend. A great chance to see what's going on at Aspen and at the Stein's Red Butte Ranch.
Nels Blake has retired after 37 years of teaching at Syracuse and he and Elizabeth are now at Deerfield Beach, Fla. Harry Perkins has retired from Pratt & Whitney, but he and Celina have chosen to move northward - to Belgrade Lakes, Me. Wonder what Jack Coppock is now about? He reported a year ago that after starting and successfully launching two new banks, Orange National (Conn.) and Lincoln Trust, Hingham, Mass., he was serving as senior loan officer for the only minority bank in New England, Unity Bank & Trust in Roxbury.
Bill Reinhart continues his daily sail from Staten Island to Wall Street where he is in private law prarctice. Bill is a tax specialist, has been president of the Federal Tax Forum, and is the author of several books on domestic and foreign taxation.
With sorrow we report the death of Linton D.Weil on January 17 and extend our sympathy to Dodie and his son Joseph.
Wayne Van Leer (Chevy Chase) is a partner of Graham, Van Leer and Elmore Co. representing some 20 manufacturers of specialty building materials. In 1970 he was president of the Washington Building Congress. PatPettengill (Fairfield, Me.) has "enjoyed three years of pressure free living, travel extensively in summer via truck camper and enjoy three grandchildren. Arthur '62 is careering in the Air Force and is stationed in Hawaii."
Stu Seidl has been elected chairman of the board of the Rahr Malting Co. with which he has been associated for 33 years. He is a former president of the Minneapolis Grain Exchange and presently on its board of directors VicBorella, who attended Norwich University for a year, has been elected to the Board of Trustees. Ed Frost will be retiring from Commerce Union Bank (Nashville) in July. "To get in training for the football season we are going to spend the month of September on Saint Simons Island Ga., jogging on the beach. Hopefully we will be at Woodstock for the class party." Perhaps Joe Placak will write to tell us how Edna and he enjoyed last year's trip to New Zealand and Australia via New Caledonia and the Hebrides. Their objective was "to slowly explore the Great Barrier Reef area." The JohnFrenches and the Haffenreffers have , returned from a ten-day schooner cruise from Guadeloupe to Martinque and John is very pleased to proclaim that Buck Steers has agreed to serve as our 1976 Reunion Chairman Martha and Art Browning are on their way to Madeira Beach and hope to join the Bradenton reunion. Upon return. Art will be immersed in Alumni Fund work for three months. Won't you help make his job an easy one?
