On Sunday morning, April 20, 1975, on his way to church he stopped at the post office to mail a letter. Then he returned to his car - and that was the end for Syd Clark. A tireless traveler and writer, Syd lived a full life to the end. In his last letter he told of plans to fly to Mexico on May Ist after attending the "Salute To Sydney" luncheon at the Hotel Pierre in New York where he was scheduled to give a talk on Around the World in 80 Years. This tribute was being arranged by the Society of American Travel Writers at which time there was to be a response from the Class of 1912 written by our Vice President Nelson L. Doe. Syd will be missed by his many friends the world over and including the writer, his roommate of sophomore year. Recently Syd's traveling has been done with the aid of a cane and with some discomfort due to a "collapsed" back.

Marion Farrington tells us that Chip had a stroke last year but was able to enjoy his 86th birthday this April with his favorite angelfood cake, gifts, and friends dropping in at the medical center. He is able to spend an occasional afternoon in the apartment with Marion but requires almost constant medical care. Marion is very courageous under these trying circumstances.

News from Lilly Linscott and Kathy Baker is to the effect that Rollie and Hal are having the best of care in their respective nursing home arrangements. Though separated, Hal and Kathy are able to enjoy each other's company for a portion of each day.

The latest from Connie and Katherine Snow is that they have not had a good winter. Connie is doing very well, Katherine lagging behind a bit because of dental surgery, but both cheerful and enjoying their books.

From across the continent we have news of a wonderful voyage by Edith and Dutch Water-bury through the Panama Canal en route from Sun City to Egg Harbor. Sam Hobbs is on the job for the Alumni Fund and wishes us all a Happy Springtime, summer by the time this reaches you.
