The class executive committee is holding its annual meeting in Princeton this year before the football game on November 13. A report of this meeting will appear in the January issue. Meanwhile, I still have some news to report from last summer's accumulation of mail. Please excuse the fact that some of it is now a bit outdated.
Dave Lee has become the chief purchasing agent for J. W. Bateson Company, Inc. of Fair-fax, Va., one of the largest construction companies in the nation. Dave received a degree in civil engineering from the University of Maryland in 1963. He and Marlene live in Edgewater, Md., on the South River near Annapolis. Their children, Denise, age 15, and David Jr., age 12, enjoy boating, sailing, swimming and school while Marlene's participation in school volunteer work has developed into a full-time job as a teacher's aid.
R. E. Moulton '35 sent me news of his son, Ray Moulton Jr., who is too busy to write. Lefty is president of Self Retention Administrators, Inc. in Hingham, Mass., and travels all over the country handling large self-insurance medical plans. Ray and Carol live in Norwell, Mass., with a daughter Holly, and a son Jonathan, who is about one year old.
Herb Millington has been appointed director of financial analysis for Phillip Morris, Inc. He was previously director of financial administration for Phillip Morris Industrial, an operating subsidiary. Herb joined Phillip Morris in 1966 as a planning analyst in the corporate planning department. In 1971 he was named assistant to the president of Phillip Morris, Inc. In 1973 he was appointed manager of commercial development and a year later became controller and director of planning of Polymer, Inc. which is in the Phillip Morris Industrial group. Herb and his wife Dianne, live in Fairfield, Conn., with their two children.
Roger Vickery was assigned to the submitted ideas office in the patent department of the legal division of Eastman Kodak Company for approximately one year. Roger joined Kodak in 1964, served on its New York world's fair staff and was named a sales representative for the consumer market division the following year, serving in various parts of the South and Midwest over the next several years. Roger became a sales promotion specialist in the New York City region in 1970 and an education specialist in Kodak's marketing-education center in Rochester in 1974. He lives in Penn-field, N.Y.
Eugene Reilly has received a juris doctor degree from Boston University School of Law. He plans to practice law in the Walpole, Mass., area where he resides with his wife Joan, and their daughter Kate. Gene received a masters of business administration degree from Columbia University, worked for General Foods and later was comptroller of the Ball Company.
Professor James D. Graham has been promoted at Oakland University, Rochester, Mich., to associate professor of history and co-chairperson of New-Charter College.
Bob Hatch, a vice president of General Mills since 1974, was named general manager of the Golden Valley division in June. Bob joined General Mills in Minneapolis in 1963 and served in the marketing area. From 1971 to 1974 he served as executive vice president of the Gorton Corporation, a General Mills subsidiary in Gloucester, Mass. He then returned to Minneapolis as general manager of the protein division. Bob was formerly a sales representative for Libby Glass division of Owens-Illinois Corp., and served as a teaching assistant at Tuck School after graduation.
Gordon DeWitt has been named director of facilities planning at Dartmouth, succeeding Dick Olmsted who retired on July 30 after 36 -ears of service for the College. Since 1974 Gordie has been involved with planning and construction operations at Dartmouth as the associate director of planning. In his new position, he will be responsible for the College's facilities master plan and will administer all major new construction and renovation. Gordie is a trustee of St. Johnsbury Academy in Vermont and a member of its executive committee. He began his career at Dartmouth in 1962 when he was named assistant to the business manager.
