We were delighted to receive a letter from Briscoe Lang's daughter Susan, an extremely mature and expressive young lady who obviously has her mother's talent. She attended our twentieth reunion and felt she wanted to speak for "all the kids" who had such a wonderful time.
She writes, "Reading back over your nostalgic look at the reunion I had to smile. Even though you made little mention of the kids we all had a great time!" She went on to mention that everything was well planned but that she also enjoyed the freedom she had to mix with the other kids and that she was keeping in touch with several of them. It was great to hear from Susan and we encourage other progeny to send news of their fathers.
Jim Waldman writes from Caifornia that he is now stationed at Travis Air Force Base where he is chief of tactics and techniques for the 22nd A. F. He writes, "Uncle Sam must have concluded that I was enjoying myself too much as a squadron commander in Alaska because it all came to an end in June. . . . Ann and I are having a little trouble adjusting to the heat, and the kids can't understand how school can start before the first snow. Aside from that we are enjoying living someplace new and are looking forward to seeing former classmates who live in the area.
An ad which appeared in the September 29 edition of Bay State Business World sports the rugged visage of Pete Dromeshauser. Kraut is listed as one of the speakers at a seminar presenting "a practical approach to hiring, motivating, directing and terminating sales and marketing personnel." Pete is president of Marketing/Personnel Consultants of Dover, Mass.
Mike Gorton, our new head agent, reports that Gene Givens has started his own law practice in Los Angeles. He specializes in probate work so those of you planning to die intestate or to get divorced in southern California should keep Gene in mind.
We called Bob Fanger to congratulate him on his volunteering to run our 25th reunion and found him busy being president of Firestone Financial, a division of Depositors Corporation which is a registered bank holding company in the state of Maine. They specialize in financing small businesses.
Bob and his talented wife Iris live in Brookline, Mass., with their son Michael, a sophomore at Colby, and their daughter Laurie. Iris is the dean of students at the Harvard-Radcliffe summer dance program, and is also the dance critic of the Chritian Science Monitor. One wonders if Bob ever finds the courage to get out on the floor with her.
