A clipping from a Jamestown, N.Y., newspaper dating back to October 1976 finally found its way to us via the alumni office. It reveals that Art Wellman has been reelected vice president and secretary of Wellman Brothers, a company that specializes in high quality design. Art's brother Barclay ('59) is president and treasurer of the highly successful family firm.

Art is a professional member of the American Institute of Interior Designers and a former member of its board of directors, and is a member of the Appraisers Association of America. He has been a design instructor at the Erie campus of Penn. State University and also is an active member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

He and his wife Elizabeth live with their two children at Westleighton near Panama, N.Y., where the residents sleep better knowing Art is protecting them as a member of the local volunteer fire department.

Peter Knoke reports that he is now an associate professor of computer science at Florida Institute of Technology and is also a part-time flight instructor at F.I.T. Aviation. He and his family are enjoying life in the sunbelt.

A news release from Troy, Mich., announces the election of Woods Proctor to the newly created post of executive vice president of Proctor Homer Warren, Inc., a real estate and investment counseling firm. His new responsibilities will include evaluating and coordinating both short and long range corporate plans. He will continue to have direct supervision of the company's insurance and property management departments. Woods, who has been with the firm since 1958, resides with his wife and three children in Birmingham, Mich.

One of the biggest events of the New England collegiate hockey season is the annual Beanpot Tournament that brings together Harvard, B.U., Northeastern, and B.C. in a format that produces action that could be mistaken for World War III. There in the midst of everything was our own Red Hennigar who officiated the final game and managed to keep order and avoid hospitalization. We called to acknowledge this notable accomplishment and Dana informed us that John Dell Isola has deserted Dartmouth hockey and has become a fanatic U.N.H. follower. He even flew to Detroit to watch the Wildcats play in the NCAA simifinals versus eventual winner Wisconsin.

Other bits of news gleaned from Red include the fact that Pete Thompson has been named to the board of directors of David L. Babson & Co., and that Gordie Russell has moved into a new home in Portola Valley, Calif., complete with swimming pool and tennis court. (The lot must have been too small to permit a hockey rink.)

Dana also reports that Hart Perry is doing some heavy recruiting among '55 sons and DonCharbonnier and Swifty Lawrence are now included among those sending tuition checks to the Kent School.

Harry Lewis, a partner in the Denver investment firm of Boettcher & Co., has been named chairman of the Regional Firms Committee of the Securities Industry Association.

A brief note from Bill Foggle indicates that by the time this column appears he will have returned from a trip to Egypt, Syria, Jordan and Israel with his wife Lynn.

Jed Isaacs sends word that Ward Rowley spent the spring attending the 75th Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School.

Finally, Mike Gorton and his agents are entering the final phase of this year's Alumni Fund campaign. Those of you who haven't yet answered the call better get with it. We have a good record to maintain.
