Don MacKay, who still carries on a semiretired law practice at Sister Bay on the bay side of Door County, Wise., writes that his son Don and family were with him over New Years and spent New Year's eve before the fireplace at the ski hill, watching Times Square celebrate. Don sees much of Margaret and Frank Corbin during the summer but in the winter the Corbins roam. Recently they were in the USSR, says Don, but more recently Margaret and Frank celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the home of the Jimmie Vail's '50 in Lake Forest, Illinois. With all the clan Corbin assembled, it must have been a fine party and we congratulate them.
Among the several distinguished visitors at the February meeting of the Dartmouth Club of Phoenix were Dr. Dow Mills '27 of Rochester, Minn., Gil Lowery '30 of Marion, Mass., Professor Emeritus A1 Whiting, down from Cornville, Ariz., and Dr. Erwin C. Miller of Worcester, Mass. The good doctor, alias Capt. Snow, alias Emmet, the clown, Kelley, is enjoying the warmth of the Valley of Sunshine at Leisure World in nearby Mesa. Doc appears in fine fettle and he should after that fine write-up of recent date in the Worcester Gazette about which I will tell you in another issue. While Doc was at lunch with Bill Carter and Art Pfeiffer, Laura Carter entertained Harriet Miller at luncheon along with Bunny Metzel (Try's wife) and Helen Reid (Jimmy's wife).
Pick Hill, writing to A1 Frey asks "Does a 'Mainiac' ever come to Florida?" To that question comes another "Does a Floridian ever come to Maine?"
The Charlie Stevens of Sarasota, Fla., spent some time at their favorite haunt at South Casco on Sebago Lake in Maine last summer. And that answers the second question above.
Golf-playing Bob Farwell writes that his playing has improved quantitatively but he detects a slight decline in the quality.
Charlie Goodnow from Santa Barbara reports that their first grandson is now in college in the San Diego area.
Frank Kimber says he just doesn't write letters, especially when a chair needs caning, a leisure time occupation which he loves and apparently it keeps him very busy.
"Forby" Forbush announced that on January 5, 1975 he became a great grand-daddy to Tia Maria De Fazio, now more than a year old.
The Tink Lombards reported a fall trip into the North Country in the late summer, 1975, visiting Len Davis, who summers at York Beach; attending a 60th class anniversary at Colebrook (N.H.) Academy with a brief stop at the Balsams in Dixville Notch; and luncheon at the Hanover Inn, before returning to Heritage Village in Southbury, Conn.
Wade Smith reports that he is a director of the Senior Citizens Club in Pacific Grove, Cal., the club is located beside the golf course which is very handy for the golfing senior citizens.
Cy and Ruth Rounsville reported attending the Penn game in Hanover last fall - lots of beautiful foliage but also lots of that wet stuff from heaven.
Dr. Tom Dudley writes from Concord, N.H., to Al Frey "Am enjoying my retirement more every day." We are glad for you, Tom, for you have serced your Concord community long and well.
A card from Dick Watts saying that he is planning to spend some time in Florida at Smyrna Beach during the winter months. Michigan is having a tough winter, Dick, so we hope you left in time.
Maury Dewer reports that he and his family are in good health which is what we like to hear. Let's keep it that way.
Up in Montana Dean Travis devotes much of his time to "Ducks Unlimited" when he is not fishing or gardening, depending on the season.
The Princeton/Dartmouth Alumni College seminar, scheduled for March 6, 1976 at the Doubletree Inn, Scottsdale, will be reported on in the next issue. This is an event which we look forward to as a part of the attempt to bring continuing education to the alumni of both institutions who are somewhat removed from the campuses of both institutions.
