The Carters have arrived at their new abode in Norwich Meadows across the Connecticut River from Dartmouth. These are busy times as we settle in for the winter. From our upstairs apartment we get a good view to the east and can even see our former home on Robert Frost Lane in Etna. We enjoyed our life in Phoenix and Sun City these past nine years and the many good friends we made there, but we have missed New England and particularly this area, which was our life for over 40 years.

The contrast in climate has been rough to take, for we ran into sub-zero weather at the outset. Recently it has moderated and is now an almost balmy 30 degrees above zero.

But enough about our resettlement.

Our near neighbor is Harriet Miller Hight. She is the former Mrs. Erwin C. "Dr. Snow" whose "clown act" brought down the house on our 55th reunion. Harriet teamed up with Don Bight '30 not so long ago. Don and Erwin were medical colleagues and neighbors for many years in Worcester, Mass., where both men practiced for many years. It was good to see Harriet and meet her husband. We anticipate many more good times together.

I must report a recent telephone conversation from Hib Richter who called from Concord, N.H. He reported all was well with him and said the Concord gang looked forward to a visit from us at the rendevous point in Concord where they meet, at the Tower Court Motel. There we hope to see many old friends.

From our granddaughter Cindy we hear from Loon Mountain, where she teaches the blind to ski, that Sherm Adams, our new leader, is holding up very well.

My good friend Shelby Grantham shocked me out of complacency by reminding me that class notes were due shortly. The geographical shift, from Sun City, Ariz., to Norwich Meadows, Vt., is a substantial one, and it takes time to re-orient and get our bearings.

Meanwhile, a flood of obituaries continues to flow the latest being Larry Clarkson on the West Coast.

Very soon our new president, Sherm, Frank McmSton, Bud Weymouth, and I are to lunch together at the Norwich Inn to discuss class reorganization, badly shattered by the losses of Charlie and Jim. The outcome of our conference will appear later.

Meanwhile, Adios, amigos. More later.
