Mrs. Samuel Sheldon and Mr. Leon Gale Dutton '17 announce their marriage Wednesday the 18th of February One Thousand Nine Hundred and Seventy-Six, the Weybridge Congregational Church, Weybridge, Vt. At Home after March 1, South Acworth, N.H. 03607.

Budd and Leonora Welsh visited Florida for several weeks last winter and sent me warm greetings from Key West which arrived late in March. They planned to be home by Easter. If you still have the February 1976 ALUMNIMAGAZINE look at page 44, the last paragraph on the page. Ralph "Budd" Welsh '44 has forsaken insurance and real estate in New Jersey and bought the Montclair Motel in Manchester, Vt. The Welshes hope to take possession early in April.

Mrs. Robert M. Chase (Lillian C.) died at the Franklin County Hospital on March 21, 1976. For many years she lived at 113 Beacon Street, Greenfield, Mass.

I have had several messages from SpiderMartin. In the March issue of the Magazine I mentioned that the Martins would be at the Marriot Camelback Inn, Scottsdale, Ariz., until March 31. They had to change their plans and return almost immediately to Wellesley because of Bea's illness. Early in April Spider sent me a brief but encouraging report "Bea is much better but still not good, but we are optimistic." The Martins home address is Edward E. Martin, 402 Lincoln House, 85 Grove Street, Wellesley, Mass. 02181.

Very early in the spring I received a nautical message from Captain Edwin W. Fiske Jr., "U.S.S. Topeka, that brings back many wonderful memories of people and times. Many good Navy men graduated from her quarterdeck, Nick Sandoe, our class president being one of them. Many times in later years when I visited the Portsmouth Navy Yard on business I would go down to the old pier and think about the good old days." Eddie's comments make me nostalgic. I am an old Navy man myself but not a captain. Seaman 2nd class was my rank. I enlisted at Portsmouth Navy Yard. Eddie reports that in Florida last winter he saw Maxand Caroline Huntoon.

When I was editor of the Smoke Signal I had unlimited space. Now I am restricted to what seems like a few paragraphs a month. For this reason I can only briefly mention a recent letter from Dick Dudensing. Like everyone else in the Class he has a birthday each year and will celebrate his 80th birthday on July 16. Congratulations Dick! You don't look a day over 60.
