The bits of news floating my way indicate that the informal ’68 gathering on October 21-22 was a great success! Friday night featured the Dartmouth Night parade and an impressive bonfire for these times. (81 tiers). Saturday, you may recall, a victory over Bob Blackman’s Cornell team took place, followed by considerable tent activity. Among those present for the occasion were Mark Waterhouse and his wife, KirbyNickels, John Engleman, Leckie Rives, who is moving to Memphis with AMCA International Corp., and the host and hostess of the event , . . Jim and Wendy Tonkovich. The long-distance award went to Line Eldredge who elected to take a side trip to Hanover while on a business trip between Dallas, Texas, and somewhere in Michigan! Line currently works for Northrup, a heating, air conditioning, and solar energy outfit in Dallas. Many thanks to Jim, Wendy, Kirby, and all involved in coordinating ’6B activity that weekend. May there be many more such good times!

Kudos to Dr. Edward Wolff, one of six facul- ty members to receive the Distinguished Teach- er Award in Septem- ber from the Universi- ty of Massachusetts. (Amherst). Ned’s award was based on his work; during me past academic year when he was a teaching associate in mathematics at U. Mass. He received his Ph.D. in math from the same institution and is now an assistant pro- fessor at Beaver College in Glenside, Pa. Best wishes in your new assignment, Ned.

Weekend weather in the Chicago area was rather rude to us during the late sailing season. Fred and Sally Floberg and I were unfortunately thwarted in several attempts to get out on the lake. We’ll try again next year!
Happy holidays to all, and as we enter a new year 1 wish each one of you the very best wishes for health, happiness, and success, however you choose to define it.
