Winter term has surpassed fall in the undergraduate popularity sweepstakes, according to statistics compiled by the Registrar's office. Although the season of football and foliage has traditionally been the favorite of Dartmouth students, the charms of winter in Hanover have won out.
A total of 3,180 undergraduates, 50 of them part-time, are in residence this winter, compared with 3,167 during fall term and 3,181 last winter. Total enrollment, including graduate students and undergraduates in off-campus programs, stands now at 4,054, 62 higher than last winter and only 134 lower than last fall.
