Your notes and letters to Jack Hubbard are piling up fast and will fill several monthly columns. Here is a sample:
Ray Hedger: "New address is 111 8th Avenue, N.Y.C. 10011. Have any other '29ers shifted to the Yale Club? Have seen SupeLockwood and Bill Morgan there. I'll miss HerbBall, who worked next door to me downtown. I'm tapering off from my job at Sorg Printing."
And here's the word from Bill Morgan himself: "Elna and I did not get to Southern France this year — our friends in Brussels could not get the house they hoped for. So instead we drove down to Pinehurst and as a result bought a house in Aberdeen, N.C. Jack Meany is already there. My address will be 528 Shelton Drive, Aberdeen, N.C. 28315."
John Cornehlsen: "This is our busy month — Virginia is talking to an AAUW group on 'New Life Styles for Women.' She is also chairing a panel at the N.Y. State Women Deans and Counselors meeting entitled 'How Careers Become Realities.' As for me, my professor emeritus status hasn't changed things very much. I am busier with my clinical practice and career assessment service. I not only get involved with management programs but with individuals and recently have been working with several marital programs. I am also called upon by H.E.W. as a vocational expert to testify in cases where disability is claimed. Also, continue active as job placement chairman for Long Island and as president of the Dartmouth Club of Long Island. We are looking forward to a visit from President Kemeny this spring."
Nat Barrows: "My wife Billie and I enjoy our year-round home here in Vero Beach, right on the Indian River and a short walk to the ocean. It was rather unusual the other evening at a party in our South Passage Club House, for about twenty couples, to find four Dartmouth men - all in classes well after ours, however, Three of us have homes in this condominium. I am struggling to keep my 10 handicap at golf - over the past several years it has crept up from 6 strokes."
Frank Middleton: "Perhaps I should advise you of my marriage to Louise Blakey last February. She is the widow of Wallace Blakey '3O. Our marriage was well-publicized in the Class of '3O notes but not in those of' 29. Since retiring at the end of 1971, I have lived on Longboat Key. Now we will spend the summers in Heritage Village, Conn., and be in Florida the balance of the year. I continue to be treasurer of the Sarastoa Dartmouth Club. It is quite active and meets at the Crown House the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. Members of the Class visiting here will always find several '29ers in attendance, so please come."
Morgan Baker: "Margie and I were in the East on our way to Martha's Vineyard on a much-too-brief trip during August. We were able to stop in Hanover for only half an hour. All things there seemed fine, except I was surprised by all the activity. A month was not enough time for visiting with families and friends along the way when we included coming back to Santa Barbara by train across Canada and down from Vancouver. Having done the train trip we can now add days to the next eastern loop."
Dwight Allen: "Please put our address and phone number in the ALUMNI MAGAZINE, because we often miss a Dartmouth couple traveling in Switzerland, and we might help with plans or places to stay. This has been our headquarters for the past six years - Herrenmatt 4, CH6440, Brunnen, Switzerland, tel. Brunnen (043) 31-37-84."
Van Jamieson: "Retired completely April 1, '76. Contemplating a cruise on the CunardCountess. May do some consulting work in Massachusetts soon."
Ed Felch: "Retired again after a year of consulting for IBM Federal Systems Division. Now an amateur-hour husband while wife Roberta sells real estate. Just back from a delightful tour of the Scottish Highlands and islands, hosted by the Clan MacRae, who treated us border Maxwells like we belonged."
Frank Shores: "We have lived here in Lakeland, Fla., four years now and I'm more or less retired, although I still have some business interest in New England and manage to visit there every six weeks. We have become real Floridians, enjoy the weather, have fine neighbors, and are fortunate to be in good health. We would be glad to see any '29ers in the area - we are only 40 minutes from Disney World."
And George Kennedy: "In January 1975 the odds went against me to the extent of a stroke, plus a heart attack. In December 1975 I had another operation on my hip, which was not successful, since I am still unable to get around freely. Use either a walker or crutches. I don't believe this constitutes anything but bad news, but here it is anyway, and my wife says I'm still as ornery as ever." George - best wishes for a good recovery.
