The Dartmouth Club of San Diego has centered its last year's activities around the process of recruiting young Southern Californians for the Class of '81. The fall was highlighted by alumni interviews with prospective candidates, as was the winter, and by a visit from the director of admissions, EdChamberlain '36.

Five applicants from San Diego were accepted by the College. These men and their parents were honored guests at an April dinner party held at the home of Tom and WandaCreamer '55. Special honored guest at this gathering was the Secretary of the College MikeMcGean '49, who arrived on a flight from Hanover that day to bring a great gust of Dartmouth spirit to the most southwestern corner of the country. Mike's enthusiasm may have been the catalyst which helped several admittees decide to forsake the fog of Palo Alto for the colder climes of Hanover.
