On May 4 and 5' the College held Class Officers Weekend and as is the custom, the '42s were well represented. We opened with a lunch meeting of just '42s and the group consisted of Dick Burns, Jim Farley, Ad Winship, Warren Kreter, Bob Kirk, Alex Fanelli, Jackie Quayle, Allen Dingwall, Guy Swenson, and Andy Wood. Our officers reported on their particular areas of responsibility and it appears that we are in good hands. Cocktails, dinner, and entertainment Friday evening and then a 7:45 breakfast meeting Saturday morning. Seaver Peters '54 spoke on the status and condition of the DCAC (it's good), Trustee Sandy McCulloch spoke on the status and condition of the Campaign for Dartmouth (it's good), and Trustee Bob Kilmarx spoke on the status and condition of the College (it, too, is good )

Much discussion followed relative to the recent decision of the Trustees to eliminate the sex of an applicant as a criterion for admission. "Equal access" is a term that is being used by the press, but this is not what the Trustees said. When females were admitted in 1971, there were two pools of applicants established, one male and one female, and from these two pools a ratio was established and filled. Now there will be one pool, made up of males and females, and the entering classes will be selected on qualifications other'than the sex of the applicants. It's much too soon to jump to any conclusions as to what this means, so it appears to me that we simply wait and see what develops. Following Saturday morning meetings, all class officers met at Thompson Arena for a lunch honoring Eddie Chamberlain '36', the retiring director of admissions. During Eddie's long term of office, he has been involved in the admission process of over half of all living Dartmouth graduates!

A note from Dick Lippman advises us that Bob Encherman is the Long Island chairman of the Campaign for Dartmouth, and he adds that Joe Wilder is having a one-man show of his paintings at an art gallery in New York. Sorry, I can't advise you as to dates and location.

Two dates are important — one to act on immediately and one to file. The first one is the Alumni Fund and the Campaign for Dartmouth, which you should move on immediately, and the second one is to X out your calendar for October 26 and 27. The October dates are for our mini-reunion, which is the Cornell game, and you will be hearing more about this event during the summer. Have a pleasant summer.
