It's the thing to do in '82! Hanover, June 14 17, for our 40th!
Sticking with 40th reunion plans, DaveHeald, our busy chair, held a meeting on the Sunday before Labor Day at their estate in Elkins, N.H. The committee members attending were Allison, Burns, Caproni, Heald, Kirk, Searles, Sturz, and Weinberg and spouses. We indulged in tennis and a picnic prior to making any big decisions and dealing with Dave's working agenda. I can assure you that the reunion is under way and is in good hands.
We attended the Dartmouth-Princeton football game, and the weather would have made a submariner very happy. In other words, it poured. I bumped into Dutch and VanSchaefer, who had driven up from New Jersey, and I was delighted to join the Ingersolls and the Tobins for lunch. Yes, the Tobins. Jack is up and ambulatory, looking a bit wan, but he's exercising and doing just fine. Jim and Nan Ingersoll were in town for a long weekend, and on Friday I bumped into them in the Hanover Inn having lunch with Frank and Pat Bartlett. A long time ago, Jim and Frank were roommates and here they are again.
As of this writing (October 1) there's a good group shaping up for the mini-reunion the weekend of the William and Mary game. I'll give you a report on that next month. Last year, Dartmouth had a good lead at the end of the first half and then lost the game. A local wag said the Green played Mary during the first half and William during the second.
Enjoy the bird.
