William H. McCarter Jr., formerly with the law firm of Warner & Stackpole, has recently announced the opening of his own law office in association with Linsky, Finnegan & Stanzler of Boston, Mass.
James Progin, chief financial officer of Spaulding & Slye Construction Co., was present at the ground-breaking ceremony for New England Executive Park, to be the largest speculative suburban office building in the state of Massachusetts.
Peter Egan has been named an assistant vice president and director of public relations and advertising at The Hartford Insurance Group. He is presently living with his wife Fausta and their two daughters Rita, 16, and Monica, 14 in Farmington, Conn.
Alan Danson reports that he recently spent ten days on an Outward Bound trip in the Gore Range Wilderness area, north of Vail, Colo., with his wife Silvia. They were in different patrols and, quoting Alan, they "gave the younger kids a run for their money." On the way in and out they visited with Bruce Ducker in Denver.
Lester McCracken of Brandywine, Md., writes to say he is still with the Wyatt Co. as an associate actuary in the employee communications division, a post he has held for 17 years. He is also still breeding and showing St. Bernards and has had two champions.
Besides a very busy neurology practice in Minneapolis with nine other neurologists, Michael Bromer plays stringed brass in chamber concerts, grows orchids, and participates in long-distance bicycle races - 100 miles and up!
Dudley Smith has been moved to New Providence by the Chubb Co. with responsibility for New Jersey, Long Island, and the New area. He plans to spend more time in Hanover now.
Albert R. Pieper has been appointed vice president of manufacturing of The Stanley Works in Detroit, Mich. He has been with the company since 1971.
Robert T. Messner, of McKeesport, Penn., writes about his very active life since leaving Dartmouth. He has been with G. C. Murphy Company, a Pittsburgh-based, N.Y.S.E.-listed general merchandise firm for 12 years. He currently holds the position of vice president, corporate secretary, and general counsel. He has been very active in the American Society of Corporate Secretaries which has just appointed him to the board. In private life, he is the chairman of the local Y.M.C.A. He lives with wife Ann, a private-school administrator, and their two children Megan, 12 (a regional Junior Olympic hurdling champ), and Michael, ten (a hockey phenomenon), in McKeesport. Don Knapp is in a busy private practice of ophthalmology in St. Petersburg, Fla., where he lives with his two children - Deborah, 11, and Colin, six.
