While attending Dartmouth Night at th Pops in Boston recently we were happy to me Roger and Mel Foster of Lunenburg, Mas another Foster also in the real estate business. Roger has just been appointed by he governor to chair the Massachusetts Board of Begistration for Real Estate Brokers and Salesmen He operates a real estate firm in Fitchburg, but his activities also include operations in Nar tucket and Marco Island. Jacques Harlow '5O reports that Dick Flick er of Ridgewood, N.J., has just received t "Distinguished Alumni Award" of the Dart mouth Club of Northern New Jersey for his devoted work in support of the club as a trustee and former president and his tireless efforts in interview work.

Our class has provided financial aid forth, last four years to Rachel Froman-Bettencour 'B2 from Broken Arrow, Okla. Rachel has thi message for the class:

"Having just completed my final project and my study at Dartmouth, I have had time to reminisce about my four years here. There is no doubt that my experiences would not have hap pened without your interest in me and your support. Without your help I would not become to New England (possibly in my entire life, but we will never know), would not have gone to Spain on an L.S.A. program, or bet" involved with a women's ice hockey team, and I would not have met my husband. I sincere, thank you for everything.

"I have enjoyed my four years here very much and my study in the Native American Studies Department has enhanced them. I have learned more about Native Americans than I though' possible, especially about my own tribes, the Peoria and Miami. I recently finished an extensive research project on the Peoria and wrote a paper on the political history of the tribe. 1 needs a little improvement but I hope to present sent it to the tribe soon. That is one of contributions I plan to make to the tribe, eve.. though it will be from long distance.

"Through the Native American Studies partment and its excellent courses and pro sors I have become very confident in my knowlee of Native American people. I have a very firrn belief that the history of the Indians of this country should be taught to everyone as part of U.S. or American history. Today children learn ly 'bits and pieces' about Native Americans and most of what they learn is incorrect or complete. I feel very strongly about what I have learned here and Dartmouth has helped me sort out my thoughts on many things. I don't think that there are many colleges that -rovide the opportunity for learning about different ways of thinking and different ways of life that Dartmouth provides. To me this is one of the College's finer points, although it is downplayed. In any case, I have had the chance to study within a very exciting and enlightening department with Native American Studies.

I greatly appreciate the scholarship you have given me. I have enjoyed being a Dartmouth student immensely and you helped to make that possible. Thank you!"

Upon graduation Rachel and her husband Chip will move to Baltimore, where she will undertake paralegal work and Chip will be working for Westinghouse.
