(effective Aug. 1, 1983) "All contact in-person with a prospective student-athlete or the prospect's relatives or legalguardian for the purpose of recruitment shallbe made by institutional staff members. Suchin-person, off-campus contact by representatives of an institution's athletic interests isprohibited."
You are considered a representative of Dartmouth's athletic interests if: • You have ever made a financial contribution to the athletic department or an athletic booster organization of Dartmouth College (i.e., if you are a contributor to a friend's group or a DCAC sponsor).
• You have ever assisted or been requested to assist in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes. • You have ever been involved in promoting Dartmouth College athletics. What does this mean to you?
• You may continue to encourage students to attend Dartmouth, provided you contact both athletes and non-athletes alike, without discrimination.
• If your contact with prospective students, both athletes and non-athletes, is part of the normal admission procedures, you are not affected by this rule.
• You are expressly prohibited from recruiting only athletes if your contact includes an in-person visit away from Hanover.
