Sports Information Director Taking Job in Philadelphia

Art Petrosemolo, Dartmouth's director of sports information since 1977, resigned his position, effective March 6, to assume duties as coordinator of sales promotion with the Garrett-Buchanan Co. of Philadelphia, paper manufacturers.

Under Petrosemolo, the College's sports publications have been cited for excellence by several professional organizations. BigGreen Sports News has been cited as a top newsletter by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, and the Dartmouth football programs and press guide have been judged "best" by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Previously, Petrosemolo served as director of publications at Franklin and Marshall College of Lancaster, Pa. A 1965 graduate of Springfield College, he has a master's degree from the University of Massachusetts.

Athletic Director Seaver Peters praised Petrosemolo's contributions to the DCAC, and added that a man of his capabilities will be hard to replace. "He has brought a new dimension to the sports information position," Peters said.
